Discovery is an excellent device which makes easier the research to the knowledge of the necessary elements for the authentication of string instruments.
Its screening system allows an easy exploration of the hidden spaces inside instruments: in fact it gives back detailed images and precious information about labels, autograph inscriptions, marks, etc.
The efficacious explorative running of spaces combined with an excellent illuminating system allow a fine analysis of wood essences and internal building techniques, which are especially important elements to identify schools, periods and authors.
Also the analysis of the state of preservation of instruments takes advantage of this device, which turns out essential to carry out extensive, in-depth and not invasive investigations.
